Well, by now most people know that I'm a part of a 1% club. I have been for some time now. Before I started probating for the club I promised I would never use the club for gain, either financially or for clout. I was also one to believe no one should ever put that kind of stuff on the internet.
My job at Insane Throttle is creating the best programming for the biker scene I can. This includes biker news. Biker news is to inform people who care about the scene what's happening within the scene. Insane Throttle is a personal business, it has nothing to do with being in an MC. Unlike most people, I can keep my personal life and business life seperate. This means my club has nothing to do with my business, nor do they try and sway me one way or another like some has suggested.
It's funny the coverage you get when you're in the public eye. I'm I bugged about this information coming to light? NO! Because of a proud member of the club I'm in. I have nothing to be embarressed about. All the guys in the club across the United States are a great bunch of guys. They live and breathe the club and the brotherhood is real close. I couldn't be prouder of the club I'm in.
So who did that video? I can tell you that I know who did it but won't be releasing that online. One thing is I don't believe that kind of stuff should be discussed with club members. But, I can assure you that the person who did it is known.
If you're ever going to start a business as a creator this is what comes along with the territory. You have to have thick skin when doing something like this, especially in the niche that I'm in. When they talk about internet warriors this niche fit this perfect. A person on the internet feels empowered, this in itself is a sign of weakness in my eyes. That's a whole different topic I will write on at another time.
Something else that was brought up. For those who read my book, Brotherhood & Betrayal. I wrote in there I was a member of the Prussians MC. It was a small mom and pop club. A decision was made by all involved to probate for my current club. This is something that is normal in the club scene. I'm glad that decision was made because we all became a part of a much bigger and better club. It made it even more special because we all voted to do it together.
My Overall opinon of this is simple, it is what it is. I'm a public figure and never apologize for something I think is right to do. Sure, I'm a 1%er off air, but on air I'm completely independent. This is something I've always preached. I always believed in telling my subscribers the truth. Do some feel that they should've known? Sure, but as I said the ones in the club scene knew long ago my status. It's mostly those who are supporters of other clubs or independents that feel shafted. But being Independent in my business, keeping my personal stuff out of my work, it's no ones business what I do personally. For those that don't like that answer, well that's too bad. Honestly, and I mean this 100%, it's none of your damn business. I'm not one of those people who flash my club business on the internet.
Anyways, as always I truly appreciate the support that each and every one of you give the Throttle. Until the next article, #ROCKON
